1. Welcome to DreamFlix
DreamFlix lets you make your own short movies with AI. You tell the story, and DreamFlix turns it into pictures, video, voices and music, scene by scene, then joins the scenes into one movie you can share on Stream.
DreamFlix is in beta. You can already make complete movies with it, but we are still improving it every day, so some screens and features may change and you may meet a small problem now and then. If something does not work as you expect, write to us from the Support page linked at the bottom of every page.
2. What Makes DreamFlix Different
Voice Control
Every character in your movie can have a voice of its own, chosen from a list of voices you can listen to first. Write what a character says between quotes, and DreamFlix makes that character say those words in its own voice, in every scene.
Consistency
You make each character, object and place once, and DreamFlix keeps it looking the same in every scene. Write its name with @ in front of it, like @Bob, and it appears in the scene just as you made it.
No Complex Prompts
You do not need to learn how to write prompts for AI. Pick a visual style for your movie and write your story in plain words, a short description for each scene. DreamFlix does the rest.
Low Prices
DreamFlix costs very little compared to other AI movie tools. You pay only for what you make, and every Generate button shows its price before you press it. You add credit to your account from your Account page.
3. Getting Started
3.1 Set Your Email
DreamFlix has no passwords. You sign in with your email address and a code we send to it.
- Click Sign In at the top of any page.
- Type your email address and click Continue.
3.2 Confirm the Code
- Open the email from DreamFlix and find the code in it.
- Type the code into the boxes on the page, or paste it into the first box. It is sent by itself once every box is filled.
- The first time you sign in, tick the box to agree to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, then click Create My Account.
A code works only once and only for a short time. If it has not arrived or has expired, click Send A New Code.
4. Making a Movie
4.1 Create a Movie
- Click Studio at the top of the page.
- Under Start a movie, type a title for your movie.
- Pick a visual style: the look every picture and scene of your movie will have.
- Click Create movie.
The visual style cannot be changed once the movie is created, and every movie on DreamFlix has a title of its own.
Your movie opens with five sections in its sidebar: Characters, Objects, Places, Scenes and Movie. In each section, the + square makes something new, and the squares under it are what you have already made. Click a square to open it.
4.2 Create a Character
- Open Characters and click +.
- Give the character a Name, like Bob. A name is one word, and it is how you will call the character in your scenes: @Bob.
- In Look, describe the character in a few words, for example: a tall old man with a white beard and a long blue coat.
- Choose a Voice from the list. Click Hear Voice to listen to it first.
- Click Generate Character.
You can also make a character from your own pictures: in Reference, choose Create New Character From Images and add the pictures.
4.3 Create an Object
Objects are the things that matter to your story and must look the same in every scene: a sword, a car, a magic book.
- Open Objects and click +.
- Give the object a Name, like Sword, and describe it in Look.
- Click Generate Object.
4.4 Create a Place
Places are where your scenes happen.
- Open Places and click +.
- Give the place a Name, like Village, and describe it in Look, for example: a small mountain village at sunset.
- Click Generate Place.
4.5 Create Scenes
A scene is one short shot of your movie. It starts either from a new opening frame, a picture of the moment the scene begins, or by continuing another scene from where it ended.
- Open Scenes and click +.
- In Scene Start, choose New opening frame, pick the place in Where, and describe what the first picture shows, for example: @Bob stands at the door holding the @Sword.
- Click Generate Opening Frame and look at the picture.
4. In Animation, write what happens in the scene, with what each character says between quotes, for example: @Bob looks at the sky and says "The storm is coming."
- Choose how long the scene is in Duration.
- In Sound, choose whether to keep the scene's background music, remove it, or let DreamFlix write music for it.
- Click Generate Draft Video.
A draft is quick and costs less, so you can check the scene before you make it in full quality. Not happy with it? Change the words and generate it again.
To continue a scene, choose Continue another scene in Scene Start and pick the scene to continue. The new scene carries on from the last moment of that one.
When you type @ in a box, DreamFlix lists your characters and objects so you can pick one. Make as many scenes as your story needs; they play in the order shown in the Scenes section.
4.6 Build the Final Movie
When your scenes are ready:
- Open Movie.
- Click Build The Movie.
DreamFlix makes every scene in Full HD and joins them into one movie. You can watch it in the Movie section and save it with Download.
A draft can be made Full HD only for a limited time, shown under its video. If a draft has expired, generate that scene again before you build the movie.
4.7 Publish Your Movie
Before you publish, give your movie a Movie Poster, the picture people see on Stream, and tell people what it is about.
- In Movie Poster, choose where it is set and describe the picture. Words you write between quotes are printed on the poster as its title.
- Click Generate Movie Poster.
- In Scene on Stream, pick the scene that plays at the top of your movie's page.
- Write a short Synopsis of your movie.
- Click Save Movie.
- Click Publish Movie.
Every movie is checked by the DreamFlix team before it appears on Stream. While it waits it says Waiting for review; once it is approved it is Published, and anybody can watch it on Stream. To change a movie that is published, click Unpublish Movie first.
